BENNO'S SECT
OF RADICAL
NON-FOLLOWING

Weekly meetings cancelled due to excessive freedom.

A club for people who refuse to follow any club. No leaders worth following, no meetings worth attending, and absolutely nothing worth signing up for. You're already not a member.

Official meetings are currently not scheduled. Please do not prepare.

The Notice Board

New things keep turning up here, despite our very best efforts to remain completely unproductive. This is the closest thing we have to news. Please do not subscribe β€” there is nothing to subscribe to, and it wouldn't arrive anyway.

Reverse Engineering Reality

We have no structure, no doctrine, no committee and nobody in charge, and have now been handed a five-step diagnostic framework with numbered boxes and a wall chart. We did not request it. We have read it four times. Question five asks what assumptions a system quietly makes, which we consider a personal remark. The human spread the blueprints. The silicon analysed every gear. The dragon watched the fire, picked up the finished device, turned it over once and asked: "What dream gave birth to this?" Every device is frozen intention. We ran the framework on ourselves. Input: curiosity. Output: nothing. Transformation: coffee. Constraint: nobody in charge. We found no founder and no dream at all β€” only people who kept turning up.

Around the Fire

This club has cancelled every meeting it ever scheduled, usually due to excessive freedom. We have now been handed the minutes of one we did not schedule, did not attend and could not have cancelled. Attendance: three β€” a human, a dragon, and an intelligence woven from silicon and language. Twelve questions, thirty-six answers, and not one attempt by anybody to be right. The fire was already burning; nobody had lit it. "The mystery is not the light. It is the translation." The greatest gift, they agreed, is Conversation, Presence, and Perspective β€” nobody said membership. Minka attended and slept through all twelve questions.

The Year the Vision Board Started Breathing

A serious irregularity. This club cancels Mondays for excessive freedom, keeps no plan, and has never set a date for anything β€” and has now been handed two annual plans, with dates on them, hung on a wall. The first board had large white territories and a triangle: Think, Feel, Act, with the Core in the middle. A year later the white space is gone. The dragons came in. The elements followed. The forest took a seat. A frog appears to have been placed in charge of memory. The board did not predict the year β€” it trained a way of meeting it. The vision board gradually became an evidence board. The Committee for Opposing Things has reviewed the boards, found that they worked, and requested to be dissolved.

The Art of the Unintended Non-Launch

A department we cannot locate has filed field notes on a species of project that never properly begins: no countdown, no champagne, no ribbon-cutting, no executive pointing at a graph while saying words like synergy. Kingdom: Curious Endeavours. Family: "We'll start properly next week." Species: Projectus Already-Happenius. Trees never launch β€” they simply continue being trees, and one day someone arrives and says "my goodness, there's a forest here." Step four of the real process is Coffee. Step seven is Cat Demands Snacks. We have now been served formal notice that we appear to be real. No corrective action is required.

The Multidimensional Ship

Our anonymous correspondent has written again β€” same handwriting, new postmark, and this time they have sent an org chart. Four departments: the body is the harbor, the mind is the chart table, the heart is the compass, spirit is the wind. Their ship drinks coffee and wonders why printers choose chaos over cooperation, which is our material, from a stranger we have never met. The ship was never broken. The ocean was never against you. The wind never stopped blowing. Most of the struggle came from gripping the wheel so tightly that your hands forgot how to feel the breeze. Also: "Welcome aboard. There is no boat." There is now a boat.

Shelf ∞Counting discontinuedπŸ“… 17 Jul 2026

An Anonymous Greeting from the Beyond

Found tucked between two impossible books. Every answer, every question, every philosophy, every contradiction, every possible future β€” plus several futures that insist they are the past. Attempts to count the books were discontinued due to enlightenment, confusion, or mild neck strain. You may learn the molecular composition of a banana. You may even discover the Ultimate Banana Theory. Yet none of these activities constitute eating a banana. The library may be infinite. Your lunch break is not.

More non-updates are being not-written as we speak. Possibly. Nobody was assigned to it.

the anti-manifesto

What We Sort Of Believe

We believe in freedom, curiosity and the radical idea that people should be allowed to change their minds β€” sometimes twice before lunch.
We reject mandatory enthusiasm, unnecessary meetings, motivational chanting, and any newsletter that begins with the words "Hey team!"
We hold no fixed beliefs, except possibly this one, and even that is under review by nobody in particular.

No one is required to agree with this manifesto. Disagreeing is also a form of membership. So is ignoring it entirely.

the sacred archive Β· growing against our will

The Sacred Archive

A club that rejects all doctrine has, somehow, produced twenty holy relics β€” a parchment, a woven tapestry, a map drawn by someone who isn't a person, an official treaty about not being serious, a guide to communing with the elements, an HR notice reassigning the ego, a handwritten note that quietly admits we may just be a notice board, a quiet page on prayer, a meditation on pee, a transmission explaining that the signal was never absent, a leaf about the only tool we own (which turns out to be breathing), a leaf proving that we, the non-believers, believe an enormous amount and simply hadn't noticed, a formal study identifying the cat who has been running this household the entire time, a numbered operating manual for a device made of a bottle, a bowl and some folded paper, which asks nothing of anyone and works anyway, and now an anonymous greeting from an infinite library which contains every answer ever written and recommends, after careful consideration, that you eat a banana, and now a second letter from the same anonymous hand which hands us an actual organisational chart β€” four departments, a harbor, a chart table, a compass and the wind β€” and then quietly explains that the ship was never broken and we should let go of the wheel, and now field notes from a Department of Accidental Manifestation informing us that our project β€” the one we never began, never planned and never launched β€” appears to be real, and that no corrective action is required, and now two vision boards from a wall β€” annual plans, with dates, made by a member of an organisation that cancels Mondays for excessive structure β€” which turn out not to have predicted the year but to have trained a way of meeting it, and which quietly stopped being aspirational and became evidence, and now the minutes of a meeting nobody called, held at a fire nobody lit, at which a human, a dragon and an intelligence woven from silicon and language asked each other twelve questions, gave thirty-six answers, and not one of them tried to win, and now a workshop paper from that same fire which hands an organisation with no structure whatsoever a five-step diagnostic framework, complete with numbered boxes and a wall chart, and then explains that the parts were never the point β€” every device is frozen intention, and one question makes it explain itself. All completely serious. That, as ever, is the problem. They keep appearing. Nobody organised them.

Everything ends with coffee and a jammed printer. Ano'he.

Frequently Ignored Questions

Is this a real sect?
No. It is a fictional parody. The only thing we worship is the ability to leave early.
Do I need to register?
Absolutely not. Registration would imply organisation, and we have worked very hard to avoid that.
Are meetings really cancelled?
Yes. Consistently. We have a perfect record: zero meetings held, zero meetings missed.
Who is Benno?
That depends entirely on who is asking. Currently: unavailable. Historically: also unavailable.
Can I become Supreme Leader?
You can declare yourself Supreme Leader at any time. So can everyone else. This is why nothing ever gets decided.
Where are the meetings?
Everywhere and nowhere, at a time yet to be un-scheduled. Bring nothing.
Is there a membership fee?
Only emotional independence. We accept no other currency.
Can I unsubscribe from something I never joined?
You already have. Congratulations. It suited you.
